POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA LEADING TO MASTER OF URBAN DESIGN

TWO YEAR PART TIME PROGRAM OFFERED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF MORATUWA

The Department of Architecture of the University of Moratuwa is pleased to announce the commencement of the Postgraduate programme in Urban Design for the academic year 2020/2021 and invites applications for admission from suitably qualified candidates.

One year Post graduate diploma course leading to Masters Degree in Urban Design in two years. The aim of this course is to impart knowledge towards achieving competence

in the art of Urban Design and create awareness of the skill amongst the allied disciplines. This course is ideal for early and mid career persons with strong emphasis on Urban Design education.

ELIGIABILITY:

Candidates are required to fulfill one of the following:

(i) The Honours Degree of Bachelor of Architecture of the University of Moratuwa or an equivalent degree from a university acceptable to the Senate on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture.

OR

(ii) The Honours Degree of Bachelor of Landscape Architecture of the University of Moratuwa or an equivalent degree from a university acceptable to the Senate on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture and at least one (01) year of relevant experience after obtaining the Degree.

OR

(iii) The Degree of Bachelor of Science in Built Environment of the University of Moratuwa or an equivalent degree from a university acceptable to the Senate on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture and at least two (02) years of relevant experience after obtaining the Degree.

OR

(iv) The honours Degree of Bachelor of Science in Town & Country Planning of the University of Moratuwa or an equivalent degree from a university acceptable to the Senate on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture and at least one year (01) of relevant experience after obtaining the Degree.

OR

(v) Postgraduate Diploma in Town & Country Planning or Postgraduate Diploma in Urban Development or Postgraduate Diploma in Landscape Design of the University of Moratuwa or an equivalent Postgraduate qualification from a university acceptable to the Senate on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture.

OR

(vi) Any honours Degree in a related field from a University acceptable to the Senate on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture and at least one (01) year of relevant experience after obtaining the Degree.

OR

(vii) The corporate membership of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects, or the corporate membership of the Institute of Town Planners Sri Lanka or a Membership of any related Professional Institute obtained through an academic route acceptable to the Senate on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Architecture.
